1. What we collect
Nothing. Ads Jacker does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal data. There is no analytics, no tracking, no telemetry, no fingerprinting, and no account or sign-up of any kind.
2. Data stored on your device
The extension saves a small amount of data locally on your computer
only, using the browser's built-in storage.local:
- Your settings — whether protection is on, and your list of paused (whitelisted) sites.
- Block counters — how many ad traps were blocked, per site and in total.
- An optional, local-only activity log of what was blocked (you can turn this off or clear it at any time).
- A one-time flag recording that the "rate / support" prompt has been shown.
This data never leaves your device. It exists only to make the extension work and to show you your own statistics. Uninstalling the extension removes it.
3. Permissions and why they are needed
- Access to websites (host permission) — clickjacking overlays and popunder scripts can appear on any site, so the extension's protection must be able to run everywhere to detect and neutralize them. This access is used purely to inspect and adjust page behavior locally in your browser. It does not read, collect, or send the content of the pages you visit.
-
storage— to save your settings, whitelist, and block counts locally, as described above.
4. Network requests
Ads Jacker makes no network requests to do its job — all protection happens locally in your browser. The only optional external request is loading the "Support on Ko-fi" button image from Ko-fi's content delivery network, and only when you open the extension's popup or settings page. No personal data is included in that request.
5. Children's privacy
Ads Jacker does not collect data from anyone, including children, and is suitable for users of all ages.
6. Changes to this policy
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be published at this same address with a new "last updated" date.
